thanks mate,up that way the odd time,not very often though ,prefer lurgan/banbridge/rathfriland/newry/carlingford/newcastle route...im probly the only one that hates the coast road,its ok once ya get passed cushendun

I hate the coast road as well mate, I have only been up there on the bike about 5-6 times in my life but i thought the banter would fire the boys and girls up on nibikers lol.
Never done your route mate and would diff be up for a run anytime your planning a run out just send me a pm

I am another one that doesn't like the coast road - don't really know why,guess I prefer the Ards coast & going over to Strangford.

theres usually cops floatin about the coast road if the weathers good,between that and stupid drivers not lookin wot their doin,yeah we prefer ards direction,cross the ferry and head towards downpatrick/clough etc

coast isnt too bad if you go early....anything after 1pm gets a bit dodgy

Welcome Roadrunner, the coast road is always too busy if the weather is ok.
I would use the roads that you favour, when we get a chance to get out. Will have to organise a run sometime to educate these Antrim boys.

Could do with some education myself lol the only real riding ive done is commuting, you can loose touch of the fun to be had and how exciting the bike can actually be.

I agree that coast road is not for me and in my opinion its over-rated and full of rossi wannabees. Didnt know you had a road bike Brian rocket
