Phillip McCallen & Jeremy McWilliams Road & Track Riding Skills Event

As part of our tenth anniversary celebrations, Phillip McCallen motorcycles is pleased to announce that we will be running a unique road and track day riding skills event on Sunday 11th September, 10am at Kirkistown race track.

This event provides you with the opportunity to improve both your track and road riding skills with instruction from some of the best racing talent this country has to offer, including Jeremy McWilliams, Phillip McCallen and others to be confirmed. The Kirkistown closed circuit racing track is an ideal location for you to explore your own and your bikes abilities, safe in the knowledge that you are in a controlled environment, with expert instructors.

This event is aimed at all riders with varying levels of skill from first time and new riders to the experienced , both for men and women who would like to improve their road and track riding confidence.

Riders will be split into groups based on their abilities and will ride in rotation for 20 minute sessions, after each session the riders will be given an individual review of their performance and points on where and how they can improve.

Bridgestone will be assisting riders on the day providing free safety checks and advising them on how to get the best from their tyres on the road and the track.

Throughout the day riders will also be able to join in on 'BikeSafe' workshops. Bike Safe can help any rider improve on their safety no matter how much or how little experience the rider has, Bike Safe will help the rider to become more risk aware and ultimately a safer rider. The workshops are run by professional police motorcyclists, all of whom are keen bikers and are more than happy to share the secrets of how to become a smoother, safer and more confident rider. Riders who complete a Bike Safe assessment on the day will be eligible to enter the competition to win a VIP trip to the Moto GP at Valencia, courtesy of Bridgestone and Bike Safe.

Get On, for those of you who aspire to be the next motorcycling legend now's your chance to start with the 'Get On' scheme. During the day beginners will be able to get a feel for just how exciting life can be on two wheels with a D.O.E approved instructor on hand to guide you on how to get the most out of the 125cc machines available to test ride. For those feeling confident there will even be an opportunity to try your new skills on the track!

The day will start at 10am at Kirkistown race track with registration, a safety briefing and tuition on how to make your track day as fun and safe as possible.

Book now as there are a limited amount of spaces available. The road and track riding skills event costs £120 per person including;

Lunch and refreshments during the day
Track instruction
Individual assessment

wouldn't mind a track day but the short circuits over here are
a rip off compared to the tracks you get for the same price
across the water.

I went down to this for a look - it seemed very well run with everyone in a group with the same amount of experience - one of the guys was saying they are going to try to have maybe 3 or 4 a year Very Happy I would like to do it next time.

I'd def recommend it, I only went down for a bit of a nosey and when i got there McCallen convinced me to give it a blast-I was a bit unsure as I was on my ktm 990smt and he put me straight into the red group but fair enough I had a ball. To be honest I didnt push too hard and i spent most of my time wheelying up the back and pit straights and if I was gonna do more track days I'd def buy a track bike.....but that will have to wait gonna get my hands on a supermoto now for the winter.
